Guide To Running a Weeklong Entrepreneurship Summer Camp

Summer Camp Participants The Jacobson Institute for Youth Entrepreneurship will partner to create a weeklong entrepreneurship camp exposing youth to entrepreneurship as a viable career option.

The entrepreneurship academy introduces students to the concept of running a business and what it takes to make a business work. Through classroom exercises, field trips and guest speakers, campers develop their own business ideas and work on bringing their ideas to the marketplace.

Participants learn the basics of starting and developing a business. In addition to completing a business plan, business cards, a flyer and a PowerPoint presentation that they present to a panel of judges, participants compete for seed capital cash prizes at the end of the week.

Camp participants:

Hear entrepreneurial start-up stories from nationally recognized entrepreneurs
Learn the nuts and bolts of starting a business
Network with other young Iowans interested in starting their own business
Compete for SEED CAPITAL CASH PRIZES at the end of the week
Receive recognition as a top young entrepreneur in Iowa
