For Girl Scouts and Girls in the following age groups – Juniors, grades 4-5; Cadettes, grades 6-8; Seniors, grades 9-10; and Ambassadors, grades 11-12
The Girls Scouts of Greater Iowa and the Jacobson Institute for Youth Entrepreneurship and have partnered to offer girls the opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship and art through BizSmARTs: An Entrepreneurship in the Arts Summer Day Camp. Girls do not need to be registered Girl Scouts to attend!
Camp Participants
Girls will round-robin through a series of artistically stimulating environments where they will follow an entrepreneurship curriculum developed by the University of Iowa Jacobson Institute for Youth Entrepreneurship, with added bonuses of interacting with successful women artists and entrepreneurs.
- Participants will have the opportunity to interact with successful women artists and entrepreneurs as they learn the nuts and bolts of starting their own business
- Girls will identify their artistic passion and analyze business opportunities focusing on profit potential
- Girls will learn market research, identify competing businesses, and strategize their appeal to customers
- Girls will learn the financial side of what it costs to run a business
- Each day one group of Girls will work with the accomplished artists at the Sticks Studio
What is the Entrepreneurship in Arts Summer Day Camp?
Entrepreneurship in Arts Summer Day Camp is a week-long day camp giving girls the opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship and art through BizSmARTs: An Entrepreneurship in the Arts Summer Day Camp. Each day of BizSmARTs features a new opportunity for girls to connect with artists who have successfully mastered the maze of artistic talent and successful business practices.
How much does the Entrepreneurship in Arts Summer Day Camp Cost?
You pay only $175 for a weekâlunch, snacks, and materials are all included! Scholarships are available to girls who partake of the free and reduced lunch programs through their public school.
Housing

Who can apply?
