Guide To Running a One Day Entrepreneurship Conference

The Jacobson Institute for Youth Entrepreneurship partners with communities interested in creating a daylong entrepreneurship conference exposing secondary students to entrepreneurship as a viable career option. This all day program brings together students and educators for a day of networking, brainstorming, listening to speakers, and education.

While learning the nuts and bolts of business ownership, participants:

Hear start-up stories from young entrepreneurs who started successful businesses while in high school or college,
Attend sessions designed to assist young people in turning their hobbies into businesses,
Network with other students interested in or operating businesses,
Learn about the college-level entrepreneurial classes offered by the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center and find out how University of Iowa students start businesses at the Bedell Entrepreneurship Learning Laboratory, a student business incubator on campus.
